... and I do not feel good about it.
I squished it and when I lifted up my implement of death (paper towel) there were squirmy maggoty things coming from its abdomen.
SO DISGUSTING.
I sort of felt bad, even though if one of her "children" had been an adult, I would have killed it without any remorse. And I am somewhat glad I did because I would not have wanted all those flies in my house...
And how was I supposed to know?

there goes the neighborhood...
Eeeewwww.
You are so funny! I say the less the better and would feel no remorse! Maybe, I'd even feel better. Pretty strange way of thinking I know.
Maybe it wasn't really pregnant, it just had a terminal maggot-like disease. So really you did it a service and ended it's life of misery and pain.
Yeah, that one sounds better. Go with that...
:) Funny as always!
lol I just happened to come across your blog doing a search of "pregnant flies".
I just found one sitting very lazily under my mirror. It's a very odd place for a fly to be.
Anyways, I don't want to squish it...I don't want to feel the action in my fingers. so....I tried to get my cat to notice it to kill it but he wouldn't even look at it.
Yuck I'll have to do something about it myself.
Omg! I am so glad that I am not the only person that this has happened to. I killed a pregnant fly about three years ago, but I still think about it. I think about it because it was disgusting... I was in my bathroom and it was buzzing in my hear while I tired to wash my face and when I hit it with my flip flop (cringe) maggots splattered out all over my sink. I was seriously disturbed and I still am.
